Mike Rimmer shares the picture of fallow ground. Ground that has laid dormant so that the nutrients can become replenished in the soil. This is an intentional action by farmers in order to let certain area of their field recover. The idea is that the ground will become more fruitful later after it is broken up again. Mike encourages us that this practice can be good if it is lead by God. However drifting into a place of fallowness is not good and it is impossible to "drift" back. Intentional action needs to be taken. One translation says "dig in with God". Some of the breaking up is big chunks and some is more fine weed pulling. We can not be overwhelmed with the field but we must start even with a pitch fork in the corner. : ) The wonderful promise is that God WILL RAIN RIGHTEOUSNESS!!! We have to co-labor with God to make the soil ready!!!
