"Why are you showing yourselves to us and not the world?" Jesus' answer to this question became a great revelation of his life on earth and his ultimate death and resurrection. It lays out his heart for the Father, for His present and future disciples, and for the whole world.

Tom Kyle from the Lifelink Church in St Louis share the the story of the Prodigal son in a new way, focusing on the heart of the father as apposed to the mess ups of the son. He looks at each of the main characters in the story and compares our hearts to each of the extreme places these family members were.
Brent Diggs relays another tough but well known story from the book of Acts, the imprisonment of Paul and Silas. They were imprisoned by a corrupt system but were themselves always free. Paul and Silas' response to their circumstance was evidence of their freedom as was the jailers response evidence of his enslavement to the system. God's heart is liberation for both the oppressed and the oppressor.
Ken brings a message about a Father for Father's Day. He uses the story of Paul and Lydia to show God's providence as we show up and listen to the Spirit of Jesus. We have a Father who will protect, encourage, develop, love, and provide for us. We can listen and obey but it is always up to God to produce the fruit of changed lives.
This week Doug Han visits us from the church in St Louis. Doug gives us a quick overview of the story of Jonah to bring us to the last chapter in the story. Here we see Jonah's heart exposed by his anger with God for being merciful to a people that he hated. Jonah's response to God's call was to sit and wait for calamity instead of getting about the business of God's redemption in Nineveh. Jonah's self pity caused brought him to a place of depression, selfishness, and stirred a desire for comfort that was more important that the lives of the people in Nineveh.
Today Brent Diggs uses the division of Paul and Barnabas at the begining of their second missionary journey to preach on conflict management. Different personalities have different approaches towards conflict. Brent talked about the "bowling ball" and the "ledge walker", those who run to or run from conflict. This was in fact a "big deal" conflict between Paul and Barnabas and Brent teaches on what we can learn from this incident in the Church.
